Ok. So I have not been able to update my blog. It has been just really busy and I have been lazy to upload all the pictures.
Anyhow, I remember when I went to Japan, I didn’t like it that much. We moved to Japan when I was 13. I didn’t like sushi, green tea, school uniforms, all those loud bikers (a.k.a bousouzoku), humid summer, and so on.
And I think soon after we moved to Japan, our family took a trip to a hot spring. It was around February during winter. And at the ryo-kan (hotel) lobby, I saw this gorgeous Hina Matsuri dan. (Hina Matsuri Display)
Hina Matsuri (Doll Festival) takes place on March 3 and celebrates "Girls' Day". This is the day families pray for the happiness and prosperity of their girls and to help ensure that they grow up healthy and beautiful.
This display can have up to seven tiers with dolls and small furniture. At the top is always the dolls of the emperor and empress. Dolls are those traditional Japanese dolls with beautifully designed Kimono.
Bottom line is they celebrate girls. That’s it.
Here is my first egg art for Hina Matsuri.

Yes, it is an actual goose egg. And Yes, I made it. FYI, it took me over 5 hours on beautiful Saturday morning AND afternoon near Redondo beach.

I am not sure when I going to go back for my 2nd egg. Maybe much much later.
